PSA-PBK offers scholarships to undergraduate and graduate students at the University of Puget Sound and the University of Washington. Brief summaries and applications are below.

Undergraduate Scholarships

• Check back in early 2025 for the 2025-2026 Undergraduate Scholarship application materials.

• Three awards of $2,000 each

• Essay required; minimum 3.8 GPA required

• Phi Beta Kappa membership not required

Myra Lupton Scholarship for First-Generation College Students

​

PSA-PBK has established an undergraduate scholarship for first-generation college students in memory of longtime board member Myra Lupton, who served for over four decades on our board of trustees.

​

• One $3,400 award

• Essay required; minimum 3.4 GPA required

• Phi Beta Kappa membership not required

• Due date for both UPS and UW is April 20, 2024

• UPS and UW application

Ernest R. Stiefel Graduate Study Award

​

The Ernest R. Stiefel Graduate Study Award is given to graduate or professional students who are members of Phi Beta Kappa and who will attend graduate or professional school at either the University of Puget Sound or the University of Washington.

• One $4,500 award

• Essay required

• Phi Beta Kappa membership required

• Applicants must be beginning graduate or professional school at UPS or UW

• Award summary

• Application (due July 30, 2024)

The late Mr. Stiefel was a longtime member of the PSA-PBK board of trustees, serving for many years as its treasurer and assistant treasurer.
